Short answer: Both are 12 V LiFePO4 flasher packs under 3 lb: Vexilar's is 9.6 Ah, MarCum's Brute is 10 Ah / 128 Wh with a 2,000-cycle rating and -20 to 60 C operating range.

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) packs weigh about a third of what the old sealed lead-acid batteries did, and they hold voltage better in the cold.

Run-time math

The Vexilar FLX-28 draws about 260 mA, so 9 Ah is on paper roughly 34 hours. Cold cuts that. Keep the pack in the case and charge it with the lithium charger it's rated for.

Live sonar needs a much bigger pack. See flasher vs live sonar.
